Huddah reveals reason that led to her quitting marijuana

Huddah Monroe has shared that maintaining a clear mind is essential. Through her Instagram, the socialite revealed that she decided to stop using marijuana and, since then, has enjoyed mental clarity.

Huddah also mentioned that she has reduced her alcohol intake, stating that these days, she rarely drinks.

"I decided to stop smoking marijuana, and now I barely drink. Let me tell you, a clear mind is everything," Huddah posted on Instagram.

According to scientific research, marijuana can affect one's mental clarity, especially with frequent or heavy use.

The active ingredient in marijuana, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), interacts with the brain's cannabinoid receptors, influencing various cognitive functions.

Short-term effects can include impaired memory and concentration and also Altered perception.

Long-term effects based on chronic use can include cognitive decline and mental health concerns.

Earlier this year on Instagram, Huddah expressed her opinion that alcohol addiction is a major problem affecting Kenya and the entire African continent.

She said her research revealed that alcohol made her feel angry, stubborn, and full of resentment.

She added that although she used to believe marijuana was a better option than alcohol, she has since quit smoking it as well.

“Drinking these days is just for celebrating, not for getting drunk and causing trouble... When I drink, I become someone else—angry, resentful, and argumentative. Everything annoys me when I’m drunk,” she shared in June on her Instagram.

Huddah has often courted controversy with her candid statements. In the past, she has made comments that have sparked public debate, such as her stance that "Kenyan men are stingy," and her claim that "Nairobi is too small for her," suggesting she prefers dating internationally.
