Socialite Huddah Monroe has showered Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, with praise, revealing that he is the reason behind her current wealth.
Monroe posted a series of messages expressing her gratitude to Babu Owino, saying he was the first person to take her off the streets and show her how to make money.
Huddah recounted how she was living in extreme poverty until she met Babu Owino, who took her under his wing and taught her how to pursue wealth and success.
"I was struggling, completely unaware of where my next rent payment would come from. I don’t know how or who introduced me to Babu Owino back then. I was living in a single room in Kileleshwa, along Kandara Road," she began.
"One day, Babu calls me, picks me up in a Benz! Yes, the man had a Benz back then. I guess he could see I was really trying! He asked me, ‘Are you tired of living hand-to-mouth?’ But was I even living? We drove around Arboretum, and he showed me how to make money! The rest is history. But he opened my eyes to poverty," Huddah narrated.
The beauty, who has recently been vocal about Kenya's economic state under President William Ruto’s administration, revealed that her long-standing friendship with Babu Owino ended a few years ago.
She disclosed that her perception of Babu Owino changed after he was involved in the infamous incident where DJ Evolve was shot at a nightclub in Kilimani a few years back.
"We fell out after he shot that young man. Maybe it was the alcohol—honestly, devil’s brew can make you commit insane sins. But deep in his heart, Babu Owino is a good person. He won’t watch young people struggle or the city deteriorate into slums and stay silent," Huddah stated.
Babu Owino, a staunch advocate of ODM policies, has been linked to plans to vie for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2027, where he could face off against the current governor, Johnson Sakaja.
