To cartels who mistreat innocent, jobless and desperate kids on Nairobi CBD streets, your days are numbered, Geoffrey Mosiria has warned.
Through a post on Facebook on Friday, November 28, 2025, the new head of the Citizen Engagement and Customer Care department at Nairobi County expressed concern over the rising exploitation of vulnerable people forced into street begging.
He shared photos and a video of himself confronting a young man who had been presenting as disabled while collecting money from passers-by.
Upon a brief and serious engagement with Mosiria, the man stood up, exposing what Mosiria described as an organised system of deceit driven by cartels.
Cartel abuse exposed
“Today, while patrolling the CBD with my disciples, I performed Nairobi’s very first public miracle.
“I made a crippled young man walk again,” Mosiria has posted, clarifying that the act was metaphorical and meant to show that the man had been pretending under instructions from exploiters.
He added that the man’s “career of collecting sympathy money from innocent Nairobians came to a holy and dramatic end,” and advised him to seek honest work.
“I humbly advised the brother to go look for a genuine hustle now that his legs were back to full factory settings,” Mosiria noted.
Mosiria further revealed plans to rehabilitate the young man.
“I’ll still enrol him in a rehabilitation centre for some extra divine tuning, so he can get fully transformed, saved, and ready to start a new life of honest earning,” he stated.
Reward for informants
Turning his attention to the wider problem, Mosiria issued a strong appeal for intelligence on the syndicates behind the exploitation.
“I’m urgently appealing for credible information on the cartel exploiting innocent people living with disabilities and using them for begging,” he stated.

He disclosed that victims are allegedly confined in single rooms and released daily to beg, with all proceeds taken by their handlers.
“This abuse must end immediately,” he warned, offering a KSh 50,000 reward for information leading to successful rescues.
“Anyone who provides accurate information that leads to rescuing these individuals will receive a KSh 50,000 reward.
“Please share the details confidentially through 0720836634. Video evidence is very important,” Mosiria added.
