Femi One joined thousands of Kenyans in Nairobi's CBD this week, chanting 'we are peaceful' during a march.

The Utawezana singer expressed her stance against the proposed Finance Bill 2024, stating her role in urging legislators to reject it.

She started her day with a video from her bedroom showcasing her outfit of the day for the march:

"Guys, this is the outfit of the day, maandamano edition. I've chosen to wear black like the hearts of your leaders. It's a two-piece, more of a gym set with a sports bra underneath," she explained, noting it was practical advice for potential street conflicts.

"But that's not the point. The point is this government has turned me into a freedom fighter, let's see if I can run," she added, demonstrating jogging on the spot. 'Yeah, I'm ready.'

She accessorised her black outfit with a black and white sweater to add colour, in line with the march's theme on Thursday, June 20.

Calling her OOTD, 'Maandamano baddie season, okurrr,' she ended with her customary mirror photos and selfies.

Later in Nairobi's CBD, she and other citizens clashed with anti-riot police. Overwhelmed by tear gas, Femi almost cried, though one citizen jokingly told her, "You should cry at home," recalling their shared tear gas ordeal.

Expressing disappointment with her local MP's support for the Finance Bill, Femi specifically called out Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri, sharing a poster condemning him.

"To my people from Kasarani, here's our MP," she declared, highlighting her roots in Mwiki, Kasarani.
