Ugandan businesswoman and socialite Zari Hassan has stirred conversation online after advising women to avoid having children if they are not financially secure.
In a candid message shared on social media, the South Africa-based entrepreneur warned women against letting love or emotions drive major life decisions like childbirth, arguing that financial independence is crucial in today’s world.
“There are so many women out here suffering because they once loved the wrong man,” Zari said. “You need to be financially stable so that if he walks away, you still have your life together.”

Zari, who is known for her outspoken views on relationships and empowerment, went on to caution that romance and physical attraction alone cannot sustain a family.
“Love and sex are not a foundation for the future,” she added. “If there’s no financial security, it’s better to wait. Bringing a child into a situation you can’t manage is unfair to both of you.”
Her remarks have since sparked debate among fans, with some praising her for promoting financial independence among women, while others criticized the blunt tone of her advice.
