Philip Karanja aka Phil and his ex-wife Catherine Kamau alias Kate Actress have released a statement to address speculations about the BMW X3 they used to own as a couple.

It was widely reported by rumour mills that Phil forcefully took back the German machine he had gifted his ex-wife and sold it following their breakup.

In a statement, Phil acknowledged the BMW X3 was sold but stressed that it was done with the mutual consent of Kate.

"I acknowledge that blogs are to be sold, and you had your fun. I wish to officially document that the vehicle was sold with mutual consent, and there are no disputes with Kate, contrary to any portrayals suggesting otherwise," Phil said.

Reacting to Phil's statement, Kate scoffed at those who were dancing to the fake news that the BMW was repossessed from her and sold off

"Najua udaku hukuwa tamu, however wacheni fake stories," she wrote.

Phil gifted his ex-wife the Ksh3.5 million BMW X3 in January 2020 for her birthday, a month after the birth of their daughter.

The former lovebirds parted ways after five years of marriage.

They jointly announced the end of their marriage in a statement issued on September 19, 2023.

“We came to a conclusion to end our marriage a long while ago and are separated. We sincerely request everyone to honour our wishes for privacy for us and our children,” the two stated.

Phil and Kate got married in a beautiful ceremony at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club on November 18, 2017.

The two have a daughter named Njeri who was born on December 15, 2019.

Phil and Kate are co-parenting to raise their daughter, they reunited for the girl's 4th birthday last year.
