The Tanzania Music Awards (TMAs) 2024 winners were announced the other day at the Super Dome in Masaki, Dar es Salaam.

TMAs are an annual awards ceremony administered by the National Arts Council (BASATA), recognizing skill and creativity in Tanzania's music industry.

Diamond Platnumz had a successful evening, winning five awards: Best Male Artist of the Year, Best Male Performer of the Year, Best Dance Music of the Year, Best Video of the Year, and Best Collaboration of the Year.

 Mzee Hiza, a veteran artist, was also honored with the newly created Lifetime Achievement Award for his 1967 song 'Tanzania Ndio Nchi ya Furaha'.
