Diamond Platnumz was excited to have shared the stage with some of the world's biggest names in entertainment in South Africa.

The WCB CEO performed at the just concluded Earthshot Prize awards held on Wednesday in South Africa.

Diamond performed in front of the Prince Of Wales, who was there promoting his Earthshot environmental prize.

The Earthshot Prize, launched in 2021, supports sustainable, eco-friendly projects from around the world, with five winners each receiving £1m.

There was a focus on ideas from Africa for this year's event, with more than 400 African-led projects nominated and another 350 linked to the continent.

Other artistes that took to stage were Uncle Waffles, The Ndhlovu Youth Choir, Lebo M among others.

Davido announced that he would not make it to perform at Cape Town because of bad weather conditions.

At the green carpet, Diamond wore a red leather jacket with a matching cap. He paired it with denim jeans and brown boots.

The Tanzanian singer performed some of his best hits among them 'Koma Sava', 'Inama' among others.

According to the organizers, the event was inspired by former US president John F Kennedy's Moonshot project, which set scientists the challenge of getting astronauts to the moon and back safely.

The aim of the awards, organisers say, is to celebrate and support those working to provide innovative solutions for climate and environmental issues.

There are five 'Earth shots' - or goals: Protect and Restore Nature; Clean Our Air; Revive Our Oceans; Build a Waste-free World; and Fix Our Climate.

According to Wikipedia, the Earthshot Prize is a global environmental award that is rewarded to five winners each year for their contributions towards environmentalism. It was first awarded in 2021 and is planned to be awarded annually until 2030. Each winner receives a grant of £1 million to continue their environmental work.

Prince William closed the awards ceremony in Cape Town by calling for people around the world to join the "movement for change".

The recipients included an initiative that saved a rare antelope species from extinction and a Kenyan company that uses solar powered fridges to stop harvested crops spoiling.

The award ceremony was hosted by Emmy-winning actor Billy Porter and TV presenter Bonang Matheba.
