Dama wa Spares reveals her journey in the spare parts business

Dama wa Spares attended an interview at Obinna TV show where she talked about her journey and how her spare part business started.
She said that she is a student at Daystar University pursuing Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, a mother and also a business woman.
Dama explained how she ventured into this business explaining that she was once employed in a shop where she used to sell spare parts.
Talking through her journey she also shares that she used to pluck tea leaves and do tailoring to cater her needs after high school.
She also has several branches under her name in various different counties including Bungoma.
She also disclosed that they offer free training to people who want to start the business.
Telling people that they have to strategize and know what type of business they want to start and the amount of capital needed.
Dama also advised that having a mentor in business is very important.
“As you start your business set your priorities, know what is right and what is not supposed to be done because huezi kuwa umefungua biashara ndogo and at the same time weekend uko sherehe , if you need money, there is no short cut. Five rules za kupata pesa ni work hard and smart.” she added.
Another thing that she added in order to make it in the business is the lowering of expectations and minimizing of expenses.
“Set your boundaries and targets, be strict and go for what you have set to achieve, don’t listen to others who will change your vision. Also employ change in your life, allow yourself to associate with friends who will elevate you according to the level you are.” She advised.
Damaris also advised on time management, ensure employees arrive on time and each day as they get better, don't allow relaxation at work. If you’re the boss in your business, manage your business, be present, whether technically or physically and learn your business, let it be on your fingertips.
