Breeder reacts to video of ‘Boondocks Gang’ member Maddox’s deplorable state

Kenyan artiste Breeder has expressed his concern after seeing a video of former gengetone Boondocks gang member Maddox in a deplorable state.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Breeder shared his sentiments, highlighting the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Maddox's current situation.

"Bad things happen to good people. Maddox was a good dude, man. Roho safi sana, can't believe life turned out like that for him," he stated, expressing his disbelief at the drastic downturn in Maddox's life.

Maddox was first spotted in September 2023 in Nairobi's Roysambu area, appearing dishevelled and reportedly struggling with substance abuse issues.

The video sparked concern from fans and fellow artistes who have shared their sentiments on Maddox's current state.

Just a few days ago, in yet another video, the gengetone sensation came out to accuse his former group members of abandoning him.

Boondocks gang was a gengetone group consisting of Exray, Odi wa Murang'a and Maddox.

In May 2022, Maddox revealed the reasons behind the breakup of their three-member gengetone group, which led him to embark on a solo music career.

In an interview, the singer clarified that the split was initiated by Exray and Odi wa Murang’a's decision to pursue individual projects.

“We started the Boondocks gang in 2015. Things were good as we would get booked many times and had back-to-back events and shows. When corona hit, things started changing a bit. But even then we were still a group despite the struggles brought about by the pandemic,” Maddox said.

He revealed that the gengetone group faced difficulties generating funds for music production since their income primarily relied on gigs and events, which were cancelled nationwide as a precautionary measure during the pandemic.
