When Sauti Sol announced their indefinite hiatus in late 2023, fans and industry observers were left speculating about the reasons behind their decision.
Rumors swirled, ranging from internal conflicts to contractual disputes. Some attributed the break to the members’ personal lives, suggesting that their wives and girlfriends’ opinions had taken precedence.
However, band member Bien Aime has dismissed these speculations. He clarified that the decision was mutual, driven by a desire for personal growth and exploration. “We haven’t broken up, we’ve just taken a break,” he explained. “We’re rediscovering ourselves and finding new ventures.”
While the indefinite nature of the hiatus leaves room for uncertainty, Bien hinted at a potential reunion in the future, primarily motivated by financial considerations. “There’s value in what we’ve done, and there’s value in people seeing us together again,” he said.
Despite the break, the four members maintain a strong bond of friendship. “We’re still best friends,” Bien assured. “We hang out, we talk, and we continue to support each other.”
As the band members embark on their individual journeys, fans eagerly await their eventual return to the music scene.
