Musician Akothee recently shared a gallery of photos on her Facebook page, showcasing her journey from the early stages of her construction projects to the life she enjoys now.

Alongside the photos, she addressed bitter critics who seem overly focused on her life.

“Before you get glued to my life, get bitter, and angry, ask yourself: where were you in 2013? How old were you then? Be honest. And how old are you now? Where will you be in 10 years, and are you working towards that goal?” she wrote.

Reflecting on her own journey, Akothee added, “In 2013, at 32 years old, I had already envisioned what my retirement plan would look like, and I took deliberate steps to bring it to life.”

The businesswoman revealed that her determination and drive pushed her to build her home, a project she accomplished without taking any loans.

“The structure you see is my retirement home in Rongo, Kamagambo—a testament to my passion and skill as a developer. I personally supervised the construction of all my properties, driven by a clear vision of what I wanted to achieve. Building this home was an incredibly fulfilling journey, completed entirely debt-free, with zero loans,” she wrote.

The mother of five shared that dating was never a priority during this time. Despite the challenges, she managed to provide for her family and support other children while staying focused on her goals.

“Despite the financial demands, I balanced building my home, traveling the world, and educating my children, siblings, and other people’s children without compromising my vision.

Dating was not a priority; in fact, I avoided men altogether during this period, focusing instead on creating a legacy and a safe space for my children. Once I completed my home, I shifted my focus to building one for my mother—a gesture of gratitude and love,” she said.

Akothee stressed that the life she enjoys now is a result of prioritizing what truly mattered to her. She encouraged people to focus on their own unique paths and avoid following the crowd if they want to build a meaningful future.

“So, when you see me enjoying life and jumping around, remember that I started by focusing on what truly mattered. Don’t just follow the crowd; be a student of life and work on creating a future that reflects your dreams and values. Don’t copy-paste; be original,” she advised.

She concluded with a teaser about her future plans, saying, “Next year, a time like this, I will have three new titles to my name.”
