Seven family members perished in a road accident that happened on Sunday night in Naivasha, Nakuru County, along the busy Naivasha-Longonot Highway.
In the accident that occurred at around 9 pm on Sunday, the vehicle they were travelling in is reported to have hit a long-distance vehicle head-on, leading to the instant death of four of the family members.
The accident occurred near High Peak School along the busy highway, leaving their vehicle severely mangled.
According to reports, the seven were travelling from a memorial service when the incident that cut short their lives occurred.
The other three, who were children, were reported to have succumbed to their injuries from the crash while undergoing treatment at Naivasha Level Four Hospital.
Shortly after the accident, Sikika Road Safety, a road safety lobby, shared the news of the crash while urging the public to help them reach out to the families of the affected individuals.
''This vehicle has been involved in a head-on collision with a trailer along Naivasha Mai Mahiu road at High Peak School. Unfortunately, we lost 4 people on the spot. The children who were inside the vehicle have been taken to Naivasha level 4 hospital,'' Sikika Road Safety shared.

However, on Monday morning, Sikika sent another plight for an ambulance to help transfer the children to another hospital as they had serious injuries.
Unfortunately, the children succumbed to their injuries during the standoff for emergency rescue services from the hospital.
"Urgently requesting an emergency ambulance at Naivasha Level 4 Hospital to save the lives of children involved in a serious accident. We need to transfer them to another hospital. If you have an ambulance, please assist immediately,'' Sikika shared.
The highway has a history of fatal accidents. On June 8 last year, ten people lost their lives when a trailer collided with an oncoming matatu near Mai Mahiu town, Naivasha.
Witnesses reported that the truck lost control before ramming into the fully occupied matatu.
