
Yoweri Museveni names a new Vice President in a cabinet reshuffle

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda has appointed Jessica Alupo as the country's new Vice President.
Ms Alupo will be only the country's second female president, following Specioza Kazibwe (1994-2003).
Ms Robinah Nabbanja was appointed Prime Minister, and President Museveni retained Gen Katumba Wamala, who survived an assassination attempt a week ago.
Former NTV-Uganda Editor Agnes Nandutu has also been named Minister in charge of the Karamoja region.
Once approved by parliament, the cabinet nominees will take their positions.
