President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda has appointed Jessica Alupo as the country's new Vice President.
Ms Alupo will be only the country's second female president, following Specioza Kazibwe (1994-2003).
Ms Robinah Nabbanja was appointed Prime Minister, and President Museveni retained Gen Katumba Wamala, who survived an assassination attempt a week ago.
Former NTV-Uganda Editor Agnes Nandutu has also been named Minister in charge of the Karamoja region.
Once approved by parliament, the cabinet nominees will take their positions.
