Willis Raburu quits TV47

Renowned media personality Willis Raburu has left the Cape Media-owned TV station TV47.

The show host joined the company eight months ago and was promoted to Director of Digital Services and Innovation a few months later.

A highly placed source confirmed Raburu's departure, days after halting his Wabebe Experience show.

"As I bid farewell to the TV47 family, I am filled with a sense of pride and gratitude for the remarkable growth we’ve achieved together over the past few months," part of his farewell message reads as quoted by a report.

On April 6, Willis announced that the TV show was taking a seasonal break and would return in due course.

"We would like to announce that Wabebe Experience will be taking a season break. We sincerely thank our viewers for their continued support and enthusiasm.

"Rest assured, we are working diligently behind the scenes to come back bigger and better than ever! Stay tuned for updates on our return! We love you and appreciate you so much," he stated.

The journalist, who is also known for working with artists in Kenya, joined Cape Media in August 2023, two months after leaving Citizen TV.

"I’m excited to be joining Kenya’s fastest-growing media house, TV47," stated Raburu.

"This partnership shows their commitment to diversity, quality and excellence, and I’ll be joining a team that continues to exhibit and grow these amazing tenets. Buckle your seatbelts! We are in for an amazing ride."

Raburu previously worked at the Royal Media Services (RMS) before moving to TV47, where he hosted several shows.
