This incident comes months after Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were was shot dead in a brazen attack along Ngong Road in Nairobi.

In the incident that happened on Wednesday, April 30, the MP's vehicle had stopped at a traffic light near the City Mortuary roundabout when a motorcycle carrying two men pulled up beside it.

The pillion passenger reportedly walked toward the car and opened fire at close range before fleeing on the bike.

Witnesses said the gunman appeared to have singled out the MP, as his driver and bodyguard escaped unharmed.

Police later described the killing as targeted and premeditated, noting the precision with which it was executed.
