Former minister Franklin Bett narrowly escaped death after he was involved in an accident along Awasi-Kericho road, Kisumu County.

The incident happened on Thursday around 7 PM, His driver and two other passengers in the vehicle were injured according to the police.

Two other passengers who were in his car and his driver were also injured and taken to hospital, police said.

The accident which happened on Karange area along Awasi-Kericho road involved Bett’s four-wheel drive car and a tractor that was carrying sugarcane.

According to police, the accident happened when Bett’s driver rammed into the tractor.

Both Bett’s car and the tractor were headed in the same direction when the accident happened.

It is believed Bett’s driver did not notice the tractor was ahead of him as it did not have any signage.

The tractor did not stop after the accident as the driver proceeded to his unknown destination.
