Two boda boda drivers have been accused of robbery with violence. They are thought to be part of a group that has been terrorizing Nairobi citizens.

On Wednesday, John Kyalo Makau alias Jonte and Thomas Malusi Kilonzo alias Bosco appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu of the Milimani Law Courts and were accused of grabbing Rahab Muthoni's cellphone with force while they were armed.

After reviewing CCTV evidence collected from the incident scene in Kilimani, Nairobi County, along Muchai Drive close to Bently Club, the decision to pursue a robbery case was made.

The suspects were questioned about the events of December 24, 2022, which resulted in the death of Police Constable Ken Kavulanga Wali during their ten days of detention at the Kilimani Police Station.

An irate crowd killed the cop, who was a member of the prisons division.

Police have concluded their investigations, but they are still investigating other members of the infamous gang, according to state prosecutor Anne Munyua.

Ms. Munyua requested that the court dismiss the police's miscellaneous case, which sought to hold the suspects in custody for ten days.

In the meantime, police are pursuing other members of the gang that has been terrorizing the local populace in the Kilimani region. "Police are completed with investigations and now the two may be charged," Ms. Munyua said.

According to her, a firearm found on the deceased police officer has been taken for ballistic testing to determine whether it may have been used in other crimes.

The two motorcyclists, who are accused of swerving off and abandoning the officer to the wrath of the crowd, refuted the allegation. They requested release on bond.
