
TSC Permanently Deregisters 33 Teachers After Disciplinary Process

Teachers Service Commission (TSC), through a gazette notice, has permanently deregistered 33 teachers after a disciplinary process.
In the gazette notice dated February 14, 2025, TSC Chief Executive Secretary Nancy Njeri listed the full names of the deregistered teachers.
“In exercise of powers conferred by section 30 (1) (2) of the Teachers Service Commission Act Chapter 212 of the laws of Kenya, the Commission wishes to notify the public that the persons whose names are specified in the Schedule herein below have been removed from the Register of Teachers under the provision of section 30 (2) of the Teachers Service Commission Act,” the statement read.
TSC Directives to Deregisters Teachers
Further, it stated that where the name of any teacher is removed from the register under this Act, his name shall not be reinstated except by direction of the Commission.
According to the gazette notice, a teacher whose name has been removed from the register shall cease to be a teacher for purposes of this Act with effect from the date of such removal.
Additionally, a person shall not engage in the teaching service unless such a person is registered as a teacher under this Act.
Moreover, any teacher who has been found teaching and is not a registered teacher shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine of not less than one hundred thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both.
Full Names of Deregistered Teachers
The commission further gave the full list of teachers and outlined their TSC numbers.
The list included Amani Wekulo Wekesa, Kakenia Sane George, Bol Mwakamba Watwati, Peter Kinyujui Muinari, Ambrose Makanda Graduse, Eric Ndithi Bam, Maina Peter Samuel, Fredrick Ochola Ochieng, Joseph Mungai and Gordon Odongo.
At the same time, Nathan O. Mbera, Langat Cherugat Ladia, Boniface Sunda Omonywa, Oywer Johnstone, Owens Oyiengo Ogolla, Kabekenya Benard, Stephen Othira, Charles Kariuki Maina, and Abigail Wangari Karwamba.
Additionally, Alison Epil Olekusele, John Muchiri Ndichu, Josphat Onchieku Onyinkwa, Kenneth Kiprop, Fredrick Karithi, Esekon Mathew Etabo, Japheth Maikuri Mose, Kuyevi Elkanah Mutembei and Ali Zigi Mwenye.
Finally, Benjamin Obreno Sendori, Ambrose Mitsanze Safari, George Lumumba, Robert Mtawali Kaingu, and Mumbo Bob Mases.
Through the Gazette notice, TSC stated that the above teachers have been deregistered following a disciplinary process.
