President William Ruto has appointed businessman Thuo Mathenge as Chairperson of the Board of Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization.

In a Gazette Notice dated November 15, 2024 President Ruto stated that Dr Thuo will serve on the position for a period of three years effective immediately.

"IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Act, 2013 as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Thuo Mathenge 

to be the Chairperson of the Board of Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th November, 2024," reads the notice.

Following Dr Thuo's appointment, the appointment of Peter Weru Kinyua is revoked.
