Several people were injured following an early morning road accident at Mlolongo.

The accident, which involved a bus with registration number KCU 035F, happened right next to the Expressway entrance.

“The driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle before overturning,” a witness told Citizen Digital.

The bus, which belongs to SEMA Sacco, was on its way to Nairobi when it veered off the road.

The incident disrupted the flow of traffic in the area as many motorists opted to use the Expressway to avoid the snarl up.

“We are forced to use the Expressway despite the increase in fees so that we can get to work in good time,” a motorist revealed. 

The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment following the road accident.

Meanwhile, police appealed to motorists plying the route to approach the area with caution and observe safety on the roads.

“We urge or drivers to observe the traffic rules and regulations to avoid accidents,” police said
