President Ruto jets out to Italy

Kenyan President William Ruto has departed the country for an official visit to Rome, Italy, as confirmed by State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed.

During this trip, Ruto will participate in the Italy-Africa Summit, where 20 African heads of state will convene to discuss critical areas of collaboration, including food security, culture, education, vocational training, energy security, economic and infrastructure development, as well as the joint efforts to combat human trafficking and terrorism.

"President William Ruto embarks on an official visit to Rome, Italy, today to participate In the Italy-Africa Summit. The summit, whose theme Is "A Bridge for Common Growth," will bring together 20 African Heads of State and Government to discuss crucial areas of collaboration, including food security, culture, education, vocational training, energy security, economic and infrastructure development, as well as combating human trafficking and terrorism," Hussein stated.

As the Chair of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC), Ruto is expected to deliver a speech on energy security during the summit.

"In his capacity as the Chair of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC), President Ruto will deliver an address on energy security during the summit," the added.

The visit will also include discussions with Italy's President Sergio Mattarella to review past agreements, particularly those reached during President Mattarella's State Visit to Kenya last year and subsequent meetings with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
