Speaking to students of the University of Embu in Embu County, Dorcas Rigathi revealed she lost her brother and brother-in-law to alcoholism.
Dorcas who has been a great champion against alcoholism says she has experienced the results of alcoholism firsthand.
“Don’t think I do all these things (fighting against drugs and alcoholism) without background or something that has happened to my family. We have lost brothers to alcohol, my own brother and my brother-in-law. One of those we buried was an engineer, another one was a medical doctor in South Africa."
The second lady further added;
“When I speak, I speak as one who has knowledge of what alcoholism can do. Please stay sober.”
One of the beneficiaries of her programs, Godfrey Mwago, a recovering addict, gave the students his journey to alcoholism having lost two jobs in the past due to alcoholism.
Mwago was taken for rehabilitation in Timau, Meru County last year. Pastor Dorcas is on a three-day tour of Embu County where her office will be screening some of the addicts for rehabilitation at Embu Stadium
