Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, launched a two-day free medical camp targeting the street boys in Kisii.

Speaking during the event at Kisii Primary School Pastor Dorcas stated that the camp also targets the matatu sector and those addicted to alcoholism, drugs and substance abuse in the county.

"Drivers, conductors and the others in the sector should also be respected as part of the economic drivers of this nation. Many of us entrust our lives to people, yet we rarely respect their work. I will walk with you and a mother," Dorcas stated.

Adding; "But you also have to change your mindset and always remember you are ferrying lives in that vehicle."

Also present during the ceremony were Kisii Governor Simba Arati, County MP Hon.Dorice Donya, Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda among others.

In the recent tour to Embu County, Pastor Dorcas who runs rehabilitation programs and has been feted for her efforts to empower the boy child explained that her passionate fight against drug and substance abuse stems from the pain of losing her brothers.

Speaking at the University of Embu in Embu County, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, she revealed that she has lost her brother and a brother-in-law to alcoholism.

She said the deceased had promising endeavours since one was an engineer while the other worked as a medical doctor in South Africa.

"Don't think I do all these things (fighting against drugs and alcoholism) without background or something that has happened to my family. We have lost brothers to alcohol, my own brother and my brother-in-law. One of those we buried was an engineer, another one was a medical doctor in South Africa," Pastor Dorcas revealed while calling for sobriety.
