National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Director-General Stephen Ogenga was on Monday arraigned before Milimani Law Courts and charged with improperly awarding a Ksh.4.8 million tender for the supply and repair of training machines.
He pleaded not guilty and was granted a cash bail of Ksh.1 million.
The prosecution claims that used his office to improperly confer a benefit of Ksh.4,800,654 to Xponics Limited by authorising payments to the said company in respect of a tender for the supply delivery, installation, training, servicing, maintenance and repair of sewing and training machines.
The court while granting him bail directed the accused not to interfere with the witnesses lined up in the case and to deposit their travelling documents with the court.
Ogenga was charged alongside former NITA Boss Paul Kipsang Kosgei who did not plead to the charge.
He was ordered to appear in court on Wednesday for plea-taking.
