Nairobi businessman Kevin Otiende offers to educate a young boy spotted protesting over the sale of JKIA

Nairobi businessman Kevin Otiende has met the young boy spotted in a viral video during protests against the reported sale of JKIA.

 

Otiende met Henry Omondi in his office and assured him of education at a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution.

 

The businessman revealed that Omondi is homeless and sleeps in the same streets he was protesting.

 

Otiende said Omondi dropped from school at Class 2 was intelligent and could read and write.

 

The viral video of Omondi lamenting that JKIA has been sold touched Kenyans with many calling for wellwishers to help him get out of the streets.

 

It was recently revealed that the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) received a Ksh 242 billion offer from Adani Airport Holdings Limited to run Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) for 30 years.

 

In a statement, KAA acting managing director Henry Ogoye revealed that Adani Airport Holdings Limited submitted an investment proposal under the Public Private Partnerships Act 2021.
