Mumias East MP Peter Salasya arrested after slapping MCA Peter Walunya during a funeral
Mumias East MP Peter Salasya is facing criticism from a section of Kenyans on social media following the emergence of a video capturing the legislator physically assaulting a man during a recent funeral he attended.
The video captures Salasya, dressed stylishly in a light grey suit, addressing mourners gathered at the event.
Minutes into his address, Salsaya's attention shifts to an individual outside the camera’s field of view whom the legislator repeatedly implores to sit down so that he can continue with his address.
Despite Salasya’s instructions, the man, who sources indicate was MCA Peter Walunya seeking to also address the gathering, fails to comply, prompting the MP to dramatically slap him in broad daylight.
Salaysa’s security detail and entourage then intervene, overpowering the man and escorting him from the podium.
