Two loyal supporters of President William Ruto are engaged in a heated dispute over a luxurious house worth Sh120 million in the upscale neighborhood of Karen in Nairobi.

The individuals involved are Edward Muriu, an official of the United Democratic Alliance responsible for legal affairs and also a member of parliament representing Gatanga constituency, and an undisclosed female Cabinet Secretary from the North Rift region. They are currently vying for control of the property situated in Amara Ridge, Karen.

Edward Muriu and his wife are concerned about the possibility of losing the house without receiving any compensation.

In a video recording aired on Saturday, Maria Muriu, the MP's wife, accused the Cabinet Secretary of orchestrating the seizure of the property. She claimed that the CS was utilizing the police to forcefully take over the house, and numerous officers were deployed to protect her while she occupied it.

Maria Muriu disclosed that the house is registered under her and her husband's names but had been put on the market. The Cabinet Secretary responded to their offer by submitting a bid of Sh90 million, which fell short of the couple's desired amount by Sh30 million.

Maria Muriu stated that the CS visited their home two weeks prior, presented the offer, and left when she was informed that the minimum acceptable price was Sh120 million.

According to the contractor hired by the couple for renovations in preparation for the sale, Peter Kariuki, he discovered that the house was already occupied.

He claimed that the occupant accused him of trespassing and harassment, resulting in uniformed and civilian police officers manhandling him. In the video footage, there is a moment where Mr. Kariuki is subdued by the officers and forcibly restrained as if they were attempting to arrest him.

Maria Muriu alleged that the Cabinet Secretary took advantage of their absence when they traveled abroad to attend their daughter's graduation ceremony. Upon their return, they discovered that the house was illegally occupied.

She accused the CS of acting like a property thief, as there was no signed sales agreement despite expressing interest in the property. Maria Muriu emphasized that the house rightfully belonged to her and her husband, expressing surprise and confusion over why it was currently occupied by the CS
