Matungulu: Woman rescued by police after residents caught her stealing sukuma wiki
A woman from Tala village in Matungulu constituency was on the receiving end of locals' wrath after she was busted stealing sukuma wiki from a resident's farm on Thursday.
According to Jane Kimeu, who owns the farm, residents spotted her plucking the vegetables, cornered her and beat her before she was rescued by police and arrested.
Residents said it was not the first time the woman was caught stealing.
Dennis Mutiso, a local, said, "Locals said they have had enough of her stealing and they were ready to take the law into their own hands but she was rescued and taken to Kya Tala police station."
