Martha Karua hits out at the Kenya Kwanza government for colluding with corruption cartels

Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua has fingered the government for colliding with "corruption cartels" who are making the state their marionette.

Speaking on Tuesday from the party headquarters in Nairobi, Karua stated that the President William Ruto-led regime has failed its citizens and the nation has been anchored at a leadership precipice.

Karua noted that graft has become a deeply embedded vice in government and has further eroded the people's trust, adding that the state has compromised the Judiciary to protect those in power.

"We must uproot this cancer with determination and vigour. It demands not only robust legal frameworks but a cultural shift, a collective repudiation of graft in all its forms," Karua said.

"This cannot be done in an administration that makes every effort to undermine the justice system by orchestrating withdrawal of economic crimes cases against the ruling elite and their cronies."

The political firebrand further questioned why there has been a rampant disregard for Kenyan law as land-grabbing cases have been swept under the rug.

She further argued that despite public uproar on the rising abduction cases in the nation, no action has been taken to apprehend the suspects - widely reported to be police officers.

"Cases of land grabbing are also on the rise with both private and public land being targeted. The state appears to be under the control and capture of corruption cartels," she noted.

Karua therefore noted that the call for good governance has become of age and the wanton ill leadership should be held to account.
