Man Sentenced to 150 Years in Prison for Murdering His Three Sons
A 40-year-old man, Benard Kipkemoi Kirui, has been sentenced to 150 years in prison for the 2019 murders of his three sons.
Benard Kipkemoi Kirui was found guilty of murdering his 3 sons; Amos Kipngetich (12), Vincent Kiprotich (8) and Emanuel Kipronoh (5yrs) while their mother was away from home.
The Bomet High Court, led by Judge Julius Kipkosgei Ng’arng’ar, issued the sentence, with each murder carrying a 50-year term.
The judge described the crimes as horrific and intended the sentence to deter others.
This court cannot overlook such a grievous act. The punishment must reflect the severity of the crime committed,” he stated.
Kirui has 14 days to appeal. The boys’ mother, Sharon Cherono, expressed her gratitude for the court’s decision.
