Machakos: Bodaboda rider arrested for allegedly raping a woman
Police in Machakos County are holding a boda boda rider who allegedly carried a female passenger on Saturday night and instead of taking her to her destination changed directions and raped her near Machakos town.
The woman also suffered a broken arm and deep leg cuts in the incident.
Speaking to media at the Machakos Level V Hospital on Sunday, Allan Musembi, the chairman of boda boda riders in Machakos county said the rider was arrested by locals who reportedly found him in the act.
They took him to Machakos police station and took the victim to the hospital.
Musembi added that they are working closely with the police to ensure all rogue boda boda riders are brought to book and removed from the business.
