A community health nurse from Kisii County is among three people in police custody following a failed murder plot at Bosongo Hospital in Kitutu Central.
The nurse is said to have sent two people to give a medical intern Ksh10,000 shillings to kill an 82-year-old Jacob Mosetti by injecting him with a drug.
Mosetti said the two men came to the general ward on Tuesday, June 3. unsure of who they wanted to see.
Reports indicate that they had an insulin syringe filled with a yet-to-be-identified drug.
He recalled directing the men to the reception desk unaware that they were sent to kill hm.
“We told them to go to the reception and ask about the person they wanted to see,” Mossetti said.
Afterwards, the two suspects approached a medical intern at the Bosongo Hospital, promising him a Ksh10,000 bribe if he delivered a video of him injecting Mosetti with a syringe.
How the Suspects Approached the Medical Intern
The intern told the media how he negotiated with the two men regarding the plan.
The intern asked one of the suspects to accompany him/her to confirm after the assignment has been done.
However, both suspects refused.
This prompted the intern to ask the men for their phone so he could record a video as proof that he had injected the man with the drug.
“I asked one of them to accompany me to ascertain that I had injected him with the drug, but they refused. I asked them to give me their phone so that I could record a video, so that they could give me the money,” the intern said.
Kisii Nurse Found with Another Drug.
The two have since been apprehended by police.
They named a 25-year-old community nurse, Fiona Mogere, whom they alleged gave them the syringe.
Police said Mogere has also been arrested and is currently under suicide watch at Nyanchua Police Station.
She was found in possession of a pesticide, which police believe she had to ingest.

Mosetti Accuses Family of the Plot.
Mosetti now says the plot to end his life could have been instigated by a long-standing family dispute, where some of his relatives accused him of witchcraft.
“They have never wanted to see me succeed and are looking for every possible way to bring me down. As a church elder, I have never gone to witch doctors,” he said.
The suspects will remain in custody for 14 days as police seek to unravel the motive behind the bizarre plan.
