Kenya Meteorological Department Announces Several Regions Expected To Receive Rainfall

The Kenya Meteorological Department says that even though much of the country will remain sunny and dry, several regions are still expected to receive rainfall in the next five days.

 

In its forecast, the department said that some counties, including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Kiambu, Mombasa, and Machakos, might experience rainfall until Tuesday, December 2.

 

Residents in Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi counties are set to experience sunny intervals during the morning from Saturday until Tuesday.

 

These counties are, however, likely to experience showers in the afternoon in the next five days, according to the forecast. Cloudy conditions will prevail during the night during this period.

 

 

Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County, are likely to experience daylong showers for most of the week, apart from Monday afternoon, when it is expected to be sunny. Showers are also expected to hit these areas on Friday and Sunday nights; the rest of the nights are expected to remain cloudy.

 

According to the weatherman, the maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 34°C, while the minimum will be 13°C.

Residents of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River County, are expected to experience sunny conditions during the morning and showers during the afternoon during the forecasted period. Nights are expected to remain cloudy.

 

These counties are expected to record maximum temperatures of 33°C and minimum temperatures of 24°C.

 

Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties will experience sunny intervals through Tuesday. Daylong sunshine is expected on Monday and Tuesday, while afternoon showers may occur on Saturday and Sunday. Most nights will remain partly cloudy.  

 

The maximum temperatures during this period in these counties are expected to be 32°C, while the minimum will be 07°C.

 

Daylong sunny intervals and cloudy conditions during the day are set to be experienced in Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties in the next four days. The maximum temperature is expected to be 37°C and the minimum 17°C.

 

The same will be expected in Turkana and Samburu counties until Tuesday. According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature in these areas will be 37°C, while the minimum temperatures are expected to be 08°C.
