Boda boda operators dove in to help her in restraining the accused person and escorted him to police station but on the way the accused pushed the complainant down while on bumps and she ended up sustaining deep cut wounds on her elbow, ankle and toes.
Members of the public alerted police who were on patrol and he was taken to the police station where he was booked in and later arraigned at the Makadara law courts.
He has since denied the accusations prompting his release on a cash bail of Sh 45,000.
Elsewhere, a woman who was mocked by her son’s friend for being old, unwell, and without property has moved to court after being hit on a hand that had recently undergone surgery.
Thomas Kamau is accused of assaulting Lucy Wangari Barhner and causing her actual bodily harm on May 19, 2025 at Marurui Sub-location in Kasarani Sub-county, in Nairobi.
On the day of the incident, Wangari was woken by a loud bang at her main gate. Upon investigating, she found Kamau, who was looking for her son, then resting in the backyard.
Insults and threats
Wangari directed Kamau to the backyard, where he and her son allegedly drank alcohol until they both fell asleep.
Later that day, Wangari returned home from a physiotherapy session only to find the two in a deep sleep, snoring.
When she woke them, they became agitated and threw insults and threats.
Kamau reportedly insulted Wangari, claiming she and her husband were both “crippled” and should vacate the homestead, which he alleged belonged to him.
