Jimi Wanjigi alleges threat to his life after animal blood was spilled outside his Muthaiga residence

Businessman and Safina Party leader Jimmy Wanjigi has publicly condemned what he describes as ongoing political harassment by the Kenya Kwanza administration.

This follows a troubling incident that occurred at his Muthaiga residence on Saturday night, where he claims police vehicles invaded his property and spilled the blood of an unidentified animal outside his gate.

Wanjigi has characterized this act as intimidation and a direct threat to his life.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Wanjigi expressed his concern over the incident, stating, “They came here, and you can see the blood that was spilled at my house. These are people who have decided to threaten me again in my home. They are telling me they are going to spill my blood.”

Due to the escalating threats, Wanjigi revealed that he has vacated his Muthaiga residence and has taken evasive measures to ensure his safety. “We are trying to be as evasive as possible, but I want to say this: we are not going to be intimidated, neither me nor my family,” he asserted.

Wanjigi further alleged that communication networks around his home have been jammed, making it nearly impossible for him to communicate or access the internet.

He claimed that a vehicle suspected to belong to the police has been parked outside his residence for nearly a month, disrupting his network connectivity. “For the last 27 days, a vehicle has been outside there. We cannot use the internet; we cannot watch TV, and this is called massive jamming,” he stated.

This latest incident follows a high court order issued on September 11, which barred police from trespassing on Wanjigi’s property.

The court order was prompted by a petition filed by his wife, Irene Nzisa Wanjigi, who accused the police of raiding their home on August 8.

As of now, the National Police Service has yet to respond to Wanjigi's allegations regarding police surveillance and harassment.

The businessman has framed these actions as part of a broader effort to silence him, amid ongoing political tensions in the country.
