Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has refuted claims on rumours that some officers had opted out of Haiti deployment.
Speaking after visiting the Machakos County security committee, Kindiki said that the status of the Haiti deployment was delayed by a court matter that has been resolved.
He said the court noted that they needed to have an agreement with the Haiti government and all systems are set as the agreement was signed a week ago.
Kindiki confirmed that the mission was at the pre-deployment stage and all other programmes were in place including laws of detention, arrests and other enforcement measures were in place including standard operation procedures.
He added that Kenyan police officers will be part of a multi-national security mission in Haiti as there are many other nations thus being part of international obligations.
On land fraud and cartels in Machakos Kindiki said that it was a big problem in certain parts such as Athi River, Mavoko, Kamulu and others, where land fraudsters are conniving with public land officers.
He said the culprits have been engaging in fraudulent land title deeds which are not genuine, invasion of people's private property by hired goons who are paid to unleash violence on genuine land owners and others who have invaded large tracts of lands.
The CS warned that they will enforce the law and get rid of all criminal gangs, saying some are in conniving with land officers and also government officials.
