Corridors of Justice: Court cases lined up for today

Police Officer Convicted of Robbery to be sentenced

A police officer found guilty of conspiring with a thug to rob a cashier over Sh15 million at gunpoint is to be sentenced today.

Milimani Magistrate Benard Ochoi on January 29 convicted Corporal George Onyango Mtere attached to Ruiru Police Station.

He found him and his Co-accused Bernard Ogutu guilty of the charge of robbery with violence.

The incident is said to have happened at Mistsumi Business Park in Parklands.

Ex-PC to be charged

A former Provincial Commissioner Davis Chelogoi is to be charged today with land fraud.

A Nairobi court in December last year issued a warrant of his arrest after failing to appear in court over Sh1.35 billion land case.

Milimani Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego issued the warrant after Chelogoi failed to appear in court for plea-taking.

He is jointly charged alongside an Assistant Deputy Director in the Lands Administration Office.

The two face charges of allegedly conspiring to defraud a parcel of land at Lower Kabete valued at Sh1.35 billion.

Ex-Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal case

At the Anti-Corruption Court, the Sh84 million graft case facing former Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal proceeds today.

Lenolkulal and nine others were found to have a case to answer.

They have been defending themselves in the case claiming they were wrongfully prosecuted.
