Mary Biketi, the girlfriend of Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya, has dismissed claims circulating online that her car was repossessed, insisting that she is not struggling financially and has no reason to worry.

Addressing the matter online on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Biketi questioned why such rumours were being spread, pointing out that she owns multiple vehicles and has a stable life.

“I have been in South Africa for quite some time. Coming back, I hear people saying my car was repossessed. Excuse me, in fact, add an ‘s’ because I have cars,” she said.

Biketi further rejected claims that she lives in Syokimau in a house allegedly bought for her after Oparanya became CS, stating that she already had her own.

“Ohh naishi Syokimau… nilinunuliwa nyumba hata kabla akue CS. Wengine wenu mnafikiria naahangaika kama nyinyi? I am not suffering, mimi siteseki kama nyinyi,” she said.

Hustler Fund

In a strongly worded response, Biketi told critics to focus on their own financial responsibilities, especially the Hustler Fund loans, instead of spreading falsehoods about her. “Lipeni Hustler Fund kwanza ndio mni address,” she said.

She also ridiculed claims that she was left without a car, questioning whether those spreading the story expected her to be moving around in a tuk-tuk or motorbike.

“What am I driving now, when you say my car has been taken? What is this? A tuk-tuk? Or a motorbike, which some of you don’t even own?” she asked.

Biketi insisted that her life is comfortable and stable, and she is focused on her work in Trans Nzoia rather than the rumours. “I am living well. I am not struggling like you,” she added.

Her remarks come days after speculation emerged online about her lifestyle following unverified reports that one of her cars had allegedly been repossessed.

She has now categorically denied the claims, maintaining that she has more than one car and does not depend on others for her livelihood.

The rebuttal has put an end to the speculation, with Biketi making it clear that she intends to ignore detractors and continue with her personal and professional engagements.
