Grace Kuria and two others ditch TV47 for greener pasture

An early exodus is being witnessed in the Kenyan media industry as journalists switch stations for greener pastures.

Cape Media-owned station TV47 has suffered a huge loss after the exit of their top talents in a span of months.

Entertainment Journalist Tony Mwirigi, Prime Time news anchor Grace Kuria, and Flora Limukii are among those who have left TV47.

Reporting reaching our entertainment desk, indicates that Grace Kuria has parted ways with TV47 after just 6 months.

Kuria has previously worked with K24, CGTN, KTN News, and most recently, BBC.

Another journalist who has left TV47 is Bomba la Sanaa host Tony Mwirigi. He expressed his gratitude towards his bosses for banking on him for four years.

"Connecting East Africa And Africa at Large Through Music + Entertainment was my Target 4 Years and 4 Months ago, and I am Glad we achieved That and more Through the Bomba La Sanaa show - It's Been Great Being part of This Family for The Past 4 Years 8 Months! The time now to step Out. First Glory To God?," Mwirigi shared in his post.

Towards the end of last year, TV47 lost another Talent. Flora Limukii parted ways with the TV47 after one year and five months

"After 1 year and close to 5 months at TV47, today marks my last day on air, time has come to explore another venture.

"I’m grateful to the management, colleagues, and friends with whom I have forged a great relationship over time," she said in part.

She also thanked her bosses:

"Many thanks to my online fans as well and your contribution in growing my online brand visibility," she remarked, recognizing the digital community that has been part of her journey.

"Leaving with a sense of accomplishment and professional growth, she asserted, "Today, I leave with my head high and a way better person professionally. Onto the next assignment."

Limukii has already landed a new job at CNBC Africa.
