The government has announced that Unga price will reduce significantly in the coming weeks amid ongoing anti-governmental protests against the rising cost of living.
In a statement by Kello Harsama - the Principal Secretary of the State Department for crop development in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, prices will begin to go down in the coming week following a meeting with stakeholders.
Harsama assured Kenyans that the prices will reduce significantly but did not elaborate on figures to expect.
“Today, held a meeting with members of the United Grain Millers Association. Noted that by next week, prices of maize and unga will reduce significantly,” Harsama tweeted.
