Four Egyptians are detained in Kilifi for illegally dealing in Kenya.

Four Egyptians who were dealing illegally in the country while posing as tourists have been detained by police in Kilifi.

Around Marembo, on the outskirts of Kilifi town, the police ambushed the three adults and a 15-year-old boy on Saturday at three in the morning. The suspects were detained as a result of a tip-off.

However, the 15-year-old had a police abstract from Kilifi police station that was issued on July 23 but no passport.

The Egyptians claimed to be tourists but were actually conducting business, according to Kilifi North Sub-county Police Commander Jonathan Koech, who confirmed the arrest.

"We determined that although the four entered the nation on tourist visas, they were conducting business without a legitimate permit.

According to Mr. Koech, "the police searched the foreigners' homes and vehicles and found various kitchen items of unknown value and sale receipt books."

The foreigners' cars had license plates that read KDD 886H (a silver Toyota Probox), KCK 391F (a Toyota Fielder), and KCS 475N. (Toyota Fielder)

In order to prepare for the suspects' prosecution in Kilifi Law Court on Monday, Mr. Koech stated that the police were in contact with the office of Immigration in Malindi.

The sub-county police chief urged the populace to exercise caution and report any questionable individuals.

He continued, "Police would want to advise the people to be very attentive and report any suspicious figures strolling inside their neighborhood to security services.

They have the suspects in custody.
