Police have called counsellors to talk to a family in Kariobangi South, Nairobi after they preserved the body of their three-month-old baby boy in their house for a week hoping he will resurrect.
The boy succumbed to illness on January 5 in the house but the family resorted to prayers with hopes of his resurrection.
It was not until January 12 that police were alerted of the incident and went to pick up the remains from the house.
The remains were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.
It emerged the child had developed breathing problems in the house and was rushed to a clinic in Huruma where he was attended to and the parents were referred to Mama Lucy Hospital for comprehensive pediatric care.
The parents, however, resorted to prayers to the deceased until his demise.
Police said the parents have been preserving the body hoping for his resurrection.
Police said they are investigating the death.
