Cartoonist and social media influencer Kibet Bull has been found alive after two weeks of search by police and members of the public.

According to a statement shared on the cartoonist’s X account on Monday evening, Kibet Bull was dropped by unknown people in Luanda constituency, Vihiga County.

The tweet further alleged that the social media influencer was reportedly abandoned by his abductors in the said area in the wee hours of Sunday, December 5, specifically between 3:00 am and 4:00 am.

“Dropped yesterday at 3:00 am and 4:00 am in Luanda, Vihiga County,” read part of the tweet. His whereabouts were confirmed by his family who revealed that Kibet was already on his way home.

Human rights activist Hussein Khalid confirmed the release noting that Bull's sister told his team that the cartoonist was heading home.

"Our team Voices Of Community Activists and Leaders of Africa (VOCAL Africa) has confirmed that  Kibet Bull has been released and is on his way home. This is according to his sister Mercy who spoke. This makes Kibet Bull the fifth abductee to be released today. We push for the release of all," stated Khalid.

His release came hours after four more abductees were found alive in various parts of the country. Among those found alive included 24-year-old Billy Mwangi and 22-year-old Peter Muteti.

The duo was today morning found alive alongside Kibet Bull’s brothers Ronny Kiplagat and Benard Kavuli who were dropped off in Machakos and Kitale counties respectively.

Meanwhile, Muteti was found alive within the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) by good samaritans who handed him over to his family members.

Similarly, Mwangi was allegedly dumped in Nyeri County by his abductors before he was later reunited with his family in Embu. According to the images shared online, Mwangi was captured being embraced by his mother moments after he arrived at his parent's home in Majengo.

The latest development followed moments after the National Police Service (NPS) Spokesperson Resila Onyango confirmed that four of the abductees had been found alive.

In a statement to the press on Monday, January 6, Resila assured Kenyans that the police service would support the abductees and further investigate their alleged disappearance.

"Bernard Kavuli Musyimi who was reported missing at Ngong' Police Station presented himself at Moi's Bridge Police Station today and is assisting the investigators with further information," the police spokesperson revealed.

"Following media reports that Billy Wanyiri Mwangi, Peter Muteti, and Rony Kiplagat who were reported missing in Embu Police Station, Kabete Police Statio,n and Thogoto Police Post respectively have reunited with their respective families," Resila added.
