Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been acquitted of assault in a case stemming from a 2019 raid on a private property in Nairobi’s Buruburu Phase Four estate.
Sonko was accused of forcibly and violently entering into the property of Landmark International Properties Limited with other suspects and assaulting nine people.
He was facing ten charges; forcible entry and nine charges of assault.
The former county boss was acquitted by a Kiambu court on Monday.
“I also discharge the accused surety and order that it is released back to him and the matter is marked as closed,” the court ruled.
