Another suspect involved in the murder of Wells Fargo HR Manager Willis Ayieko arrested

In a significant development, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has apprehended another suspect linked to the tragic death of Willis Ayieko, the Human Resources manager at Wells Fargo.

The arrest of Duncan Onyango, also known as “Otuch,” took place in Bondo Sub-County, where detectives found him hiding.

Onyango’s residence had been identified by a previously detained suspect as the place where Ayieko was allegedly tortured and murdered.

The DCI stated that a recent scene reenactment led detectives to Onyango’s house in Luanda Doho, Kakamega County, situated less than 400 meters from where Ayieko’s body was discovered. This scene is where investigators believe Ayieko suffered his final moments at the hands of his abductors. Onyango is currently being processed for court arraignment.

The investigation also pointed to Fredrick Otieno Omondi, a boda boda rider from Kisumu, as a possible accomplice in Ayieko’s abduction.

Detectives allege that Omondi transported the first suspect, Victor Ouma Okoth, to the site where Ayieko was seized. Okoth reportedly withdrew over KSh 100,000 from Ayieko’s mobile account, adding a financial dimension to the case.

The tragic loss has deeply affected Ayieko’s colleagues, who remember him fondly as a valuable member of the Wells Fargo team. In a moving tribute, the security services firm expressed hope for justice, honoring Ayieko’s legacy.

As detectives continue following leads, this arrest brings the investigation closer to shedding light on the motives and people behind the crime. The DCI is committed to uncovering the full scope of this heinous act, ensuring that Ayieko and his family receive the justice they deserve.
