President Ruto presides over awarding ceremony of athletes who represented Kenya at the WAC in Budapest

President William Ruto presided over the awarding ceremony where cash awards were presented to recognize the achievements of athletes who represented the nation at the World Athletic Championship (WAC) in Budapest.

Numerous athletes will receive recognition, among them Faith Kipyegon, the gold medalist who impressed by securing two gold medals. Kipyegon's outstanding season saw her shatter three world records in the 1,500m, mile, and 5,000m events.

Expressing her delight, the 29-year-old stated, "This year has been truly remarkable for me. Achieving the dream of winning two gold medals at a championship is something I had been aspiring to."

Other athletes who will be acknowledged include Mary Moraa, who clinched gold in the 800-meter race, and Emmanuel Wanyonyi, who earned a silver medal. Beatrice Chepkoech and Daniel Simiyu will also be honored.

In addition, Faith Cherotich, Beatrice Chebet, Jacob Krop, and Abraham Kibiwott, all of whom won bronze medals, will be recognized.

This event will also serve as the official unveiling of The Talanta Plaza.
