92 year old grandmother raped in Kisumu
A 92-year-old granny is admitted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) after she was attacked and raped by an unknown suspect at her home in Ofunyu village in Kisumu East sub-county.
Central Kolwa location Chief Elijah Omumbo has confirmed the incident saying the suspect gained entry into the granny's house through the window before committing the heinous act.
Chief Omumbo says neighbours who heard noise from her house in the night rushed to her rescue but the suspect had already escaped.
He says the granny who lives alone was then rushed to JOOTRH hospital where she is undergoing treatment after the ordeal.
Chief Omumbo says police in Kisumu East sub-county are probing the matter and that hopefully the suspect will be nabbed.
The bizarre incident has left Ofunyu villagers in shock with calls for quick police action.
