
5 people arrested for being in possession of over 3 tonnes of ethanol in Busia county

Police are holding five people who were found in possession of over three tonnes of suspected ethanol in Ochude, Teso South in Busia County.
Officials from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and officers from Adungosi Police Station arrested the five suspects; Isaiah Keta (27), Patrick Limo (25), Chrispinus Ilukol (30), Kelvin Ochuka (32) and Isaac Omoit (19).
Police said the 111- 30 litre jerrycans were found at the home of one Mildred Odongo, with 53 of them already parked ready for distribution.
The multi-agency team said revealed that the home owner and her other associates who evaded the arrest are being pursued.
The scene was processed and exhibit secured, including the vehicle, registration number KCY 332F, and the 3,330 litres of ethanol which has been secured at a safe custody.
