47 injured after a passenger bus veered off the road in Londiani
At least 47 passengers sustained serious injuries following an accident at the Fort Tenan Tunnel area along Londiani-Kisumu Road, Kericho County after a bus they were travelling in veered off the road and landed in a ditch on Friday.
In an update by the Kenya Red Cross, the 47 have been rushed to the Fort Tenan Sub County Hospital for medical attention.
Seven other passengers on the bus escaped unhurt.
"The scene has been cleared by the Kenya Police," the Red Cross stated.
This comes after at least five people lost their lives in the wee hours of Saturday, December 2, 2023, along the same route.
The deceased -four men and a child- died on the spot while 10 others suffered injuries after the 14-seater matatu they were travelling in rammed into a trailer at the notorious black spot.
